Frequently asked questions

The things Macarthur families ask us most often.

Getting started

What ages do you care for?

Birth to five years. Children move through five age-based rooms — Joey's (0–1), Koala's (1–2), Wombat's (2–3), Wallabie's (3–4) and Kangaroo's (4–5) — plus outdoor spaces shared by everyone. Explore the rooms.

What are your opening hours?

We're open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm.

How do I enrol?

Book a tour, then complete the waitlist enquiry form with your child's details, preferred start date and days. When a place opens in your child's age group we'll be in touch to confirm and send the paperwork. See the full process.

Does joining the waitlist guarantee a place?

No. Submitting a waitlist enquiry doesn't guarantee a placement — it registers your interest so we can contact you when a place becomes available in your child's age group.

Can I come and look around first?

Please do. A tour is the best way to get a feel for a centre. You'll walk through the rooms, meet educators and can ask anything. Book a tour or call us on 02 4658 2244.

Fees and subsidy

What are your fees?

We don't publish a daily rate online, because what you actually pay depends on your Child Care Subsidy — and that's different for every family. Call us and we'll give you our current fee and help you work out your likely out-of-pocket cost.

Can I use the Child Care Subsidy here?

Yes. Macarthur Early Learning is an approved service, so eligible families can claim CCS. It's paid directly to us and reduces your fees — you're only invoiced for the gap. How CCS works.

A typical day

Are meals provided?

Yes. Julie, our centre cook of nine years, prepares fresh meals on site each day. Our menu is approved under NSW Health's Munch & Move program, so it meets current nutritional guidelines. More about our kitchen.

What about allergies or dietary requirements?

Tell us on your enrolment form — allergies, intolerances and cultural requirements — and Julie will work around them.

What educational program do you follow?

Our program is play-based and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (Belonging, Being & Becoming), Australia's national framework for children from birth to five.

Quality and safety

What are the educator-to-child ratios?

NSW sets minimum ratios by age group: one educator to four children for birth to 24 months, one to five for 24–36 months, and one to ten for over 36 months up to preschool age. Each room page lists the minimum that applies there.

Is the centre government approved and assessed?

Yes. We're an approved centre-based long day care service (Service Approval SE-00011271), assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard. At our most recent assessment we were rated Exceeding NQS in two quality areas: Children's Health and Safety, and Governance and Leadership.

Does my child need to be immunised?

Under NSW law, children must be up to date with their immunisations — or have an approved exemption recorded — to be enrolled in early education and care. We'll ask for an Immunisation History Statement as part of enrolment.

Finding us

Where are you and is there parking?

We're at 64-66 Macarthur Road, Elderslie NSW 2570 — right next door to Mawarra Public School, and an easy run from Camden town centre and Spring Farm. For parking and drop-off, give us a call on 02 4658 2244.

Still have a question?

The office is happy to talk it through — there’s no such thing as a silly question when it’s about your child.
